| This is the web page for the Del Mar Service Unit (#690) of the San Diego-Imperial County Girl Scouts. The Del Mar Service Unit team acts as a liaison to the greater San Diego Girl Scout Council and provides assistance to the over 50 Girl Scout troops in the Del Mar/Carmel Valley area. We serve girls from the Del Mar Union school district, Del Mar Pines, and the San Diego Jewish Academy, as well as scouts at Earl Warren and Carmel Valley Middle Schools and Torrey Pines High School. Hello to All Troops and Welcome Back to a Great Year of Girl Scouts, I will be setting up the service unit meetings on the third
Thursday of every month at Del Mar Heights Elementary School. So, this Thursday will be our first meeting. It will be from 6:30 to
7:30 p.m. in the MUR. I would like to meet everyone and introduce ourselves as well as discuss what you would like to have
covered at the meetings. Please join us for our informative meeting as well as refreshments and snacks. Thank you and please
feel free to contact me with any questions. You can e-mail me at mshaban@san.rr.com.
New food packaging event opportunity October 12th. Please see the Community Service page for details.
The camping supplies have a new home - Silvia Wahr. Contact Silvia if you need any camping or outdoor activity supplies.
Ladies,
Thanks for your patience as we work out details for the Junior Encampment. We're holding the weekend of May 2-3 at Big
Bear Lake's Camp Wasewagan. http://www.lazyjranchcamp.com/html/wasewagan.html. The program runs Sat AM to Sun lunch,
one night, about $100 per person. More details in two weeks, along with a reservation flyer.

Our Brownie encampment is a post-Halloween bash at the Escondido site - Try-Its to earn galore! Troop 1398 girls will be
putting this on as part of their Silver Award. No flyer as yet.
Alisa Abrenica, our beloved Volunteer Coordinator, has taken another position with Girl Scouts and we will have a new Volunteer
Coordinator this year.
Azita Shaban, our new Service Unit Manager, is setting up dates and hoping to confirm them before a SU yearly schedule is sent
out. Lightly pencil in third Thursdays of the month at Del Mar Heights School multi-use room until confirmed.
